How to Get Your Illinois Real Estate License

To pursue a career in real estate in Illinois, there are several steps to obtaining your license:

General Requirements

Age:

You must be at least 18 years old.

Education:

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Educational Requirements

Educational Requirements:

 Complete a total of 75 hours of pre-license coursework from a real estate school approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR):

Exam Requirements

Take the Illinois Real Estate License Exam:

 You’ll need a scaled score of 75 or higher to pass.
